Since 2010, Slum Dance Africa has served as a dynamic cultural institution that unites East and Central Africa though breaking and contemporary African dance.
Slum Dance was founded by Inuka Co-Director, Victor Odhiambo, who wanted to create a safe space with free programming for youth in Kibera following the 2007 post-election violence.
Programs include weekly classes, public performances, and an annual conference/competition. Top dancers from Uganda, Congo, Europe, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi participate in the Slum Dance conference.
